Hi @Daniel12561

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP Pavilion laptop is stuck on the boot-up screen, it could be due to a variety of reasons such as hardware issues, corrupted files, or software conflicts.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) and remove any peripherals connected to the laptop.
  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Remove the battery (if it's removable) and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to reset the hardware.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn on the laptop.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Ensure that any removable components like RAM or hard drives are properly connected.
  • If you recently installed any new hardware components, remove them to see if the issue resolves.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Turn off the laptop completely.
  • Turn it on again and press the F8 key repeatedly before the HP logo appears to enter the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.
  • If the laptop boots into Safe Mode, it may be a driver or software issue. You can uninstall recently added software or drivers to see if that resolves the problem.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If Safe Mode is accessible, perform a system restore to revert the laptop to a previous state before the issue occurred.
  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and follow the prompts.

Run Diagnostic Tests:

  • Restart the laptop and press the F2 key repeatedly to enter the System Diagnostics.
  • Run the memory test and hard drive test to ensure there are no hardware issues.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Incorrect BIOS settings can cause boot issues. Access the BIOS by pressing F10 during startup.
  • Ensure that the boot order is correct, with the hard drive as the primary boot device.

Repair or Reinstall Windows:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to use a Windows recovery disk to repair or reinstall the operating system.

Let me know how it goes.
