Hey everybody,
I've got stuck on boot level. No hardrives for boot are recognized. Think Update the BIOS (UEFI) whould be a great idea. Device is an ENVY X2 15 detachable.
Only Problem is that the onboard Hardware Diagnostics UEFI is an early version (1.9.0.0). So no option for Firmware Update is selectable.
Have been made an USB thumbdrive with current version of Diagnostics tool to Update it using HP softpaq installer.
But no recommended key combination works.( Suggestion to put thumbdrive in,Power PC on and do esc and f2, only brings me back to the old version)
It would be awesome if anybody got a solution to my Situation!
What is somehow frustating that even relatively hidden Support Infos not work:
- Hard reset laptop by pushing Power Button for 8-
15s.(to emty EC)
- BIOS reset by start up with Windows key+b
-CMOS reset by Power Button and win key+v.
Kind regards

Thank you for your reply!
Yes i can still enter the BIOS.
all atemts of switching between legacy Mode and UEFI,secure boot on or off did not work.
I've also made the 4-in1 USB Stick tool. Not rexognized either.
(Nice to know that the tool only gets to unpack the files to the USB stick if the installer exe is extracted to the home Directory c:\swsetup)
I've would rather supply the needed files with a short Stick Directory Layout and let the User do it on their own, as to pack everything in a softpaq within another .exe which happens to do not operare propperly. (The final step of copying BIOS files by sesrch of ID or Producname just wont work. Got it manually )
booting into this USB stick wont work.even with another Key combination i've learned( pressing all 4 arrow keys and then Power up)
No problem with the USB Stick itself either. Switched it for another one which works as a WIN10 bootable Install Medium on the failed Envy Laptop just fine.
Even get crazy and used the Win10 install USB for getting into a command prompt and from there switch volumes to execute on the HP _tool USB (plugged in at the secobd USB port)
As you have thought this did not work. every form of installer.exe (insydeflash.exe for example appears to be a good name for an .exe which may flash the BIOS made by Insyde) or Otter executable or even efi-files or anything just cant be open in that way.
Even made HP stuff loaded USB stick with FreeDOS. No success on that take either.
Maybe i've missed some but think i tried out every combination i possibly can think of .
it will be nice if anybody has another idea.
