Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to upgrade the bios of a HP Pavilion dv7-6141eg to Uefi.

On the driver page there is a software called "HP BIOS Update UEFI 2.3.0.0 Rev. A 1.2 MB 30. Mar. 2011".

I'm also not sure if this works in general.

Given the date of your post, I would have expected someone to respond to it before this -- but since that has not happened, I will take a shot at it ...

Sorry to say this, but there is no way for us to know, from here, whether this is possible or not.  Lots of these older laptops came with different models, some with BIOS, some with UEFI.  HP publishes this download on a single page, regardless of the setup in your specific mode.  The only way to know if this will work with yours is to try it.

 

I ran into exactly the same situation with my HP laptop, saw the same download, downloaded it an ran it -- and it said it did not apply to my model.
