There are many threads going back to 2020 about x360 laptops with the power button integrated into the keyboard being unable to be woken up (if in sleep mode) or powered on (if turned off) when the screen is folded down in tablet mode. Apparently tablet mode disables the entire keyboard, including the power button.

 

So far I have found these workarounds with my  2022 Envy x360 15" (15-es1035nr purchased April 2022) after reading all the previous threads:

To wake from sleep in tablet mode, you can start typing on a paired bluetooth keyboard or a USB keyboard/mouse

To power on when turned off in tablet mode, the power button will sometimes work if you first magnetically stick the active pen to the side of the base (next to the power port and SD card reader).

 

Is there still no fix that doesn't require these annoying workarounds? It's making me want to return this thing.
