HP Notebook - 17z-ak000 CTO

Windows 10  HP 17z Laptop.  The error message says to 'Please install an operating system on your hard disk....I don't know what to do...

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC on the new SSD.

 

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media. 

 

Your PC's product number is one of those listed at the link below, followed by #ABA.

Thanks Paul.  I was told that I need a new hard drive with the error code that I received and that way that the computer is responding.  $408.  Just going to wait and get a new computer.  This one is 6 years old.  Windows 10.
