HP ENVY Laptop 17m-ch0013dx  Laptop will not power on when you push the power button.  I have verified that the power light comes on when the power supply is plugged into it.. The light comes on..   I have also unplugged the power supply and all devices to hold the power button down for 15 or more seconds.. That does not fix the problem..

Is there anything else I can try before getting it repaired?

@KenDoll1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP ENVY Laptop That Won't Power On!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP ENVY Laptop 17m-ch0013dx is not powering on despite the power light coming on when the power supply is connected, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Reset the Laptop:

  • Ensure the power supply is disconnected.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and try turning on the laptop.

Connect an External Monitor:

  • If there is an issue with the display, the laptop may not seem to power on. Connect the laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable.
  • Turn on the laptop and see if any display appears on the external monitor. If it does, there might be an issue with the laptop’s internal display.

Recover the BIOS:

  • Power off the laptop and connect it to a power source.
  • Press and hold the Windows and B keys, then press the power button for one second while still holding the keys. After one second, release the keys.
  • Wait for the BIOS recovery screen to appear.

Check the Battery:

  • If the battery is removable, try removing it and then turning on the laptop with just the power adapter connected.
  • If the laptop powers on, the issue might be with the battery.

Reseat Memory Modules:

  • If you are comfortable with opening the laptop, try reseating the RAM modules.
  • Ensure the power is disconnected, remove the back panel, and then remove and reinsert the RAM modules securely.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
