Hi @Diksha08,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!
To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?
Meanwhile, you can try these steps:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset can often resolve issues where the screen is blank but the computer appears to be powered on.
- Turn off the computer. If it won't respond, hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to force a shutdown.
- Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
- Disconnect all external devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
- Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the computer, but do not connect any peripheral devices.
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.
- If a startup menu appears, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press the enter key.
2. Check Connections
Loose or improper connections can cause the screen to stay blank. Disconnect and reconnect all cables and connections.
3. Update BIOS and Drivers
Updating to the latest BIOS and drivers may resolve compatibility and performance issues:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your laptop model and download the latest BIOS and drivers.
- Follow the installation steps provided on the website.
4. Test Display Output
If the screen remains blank, try using an external monitor to rule out display issues:
- Connect an external monitor via the VGA, DisplayPort, or HDMI port.
- Press the power button and close the laptop lid to force video output to the external monitor.
- If the external monitor displays properly, update the BIOS, software, and drivers.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
