HP Pavilion Gaming 16-a0000 Laptop PC (9EK05AV)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I installed Windows 8.1  Single Language from usb. I cleaned every disk and did it properly. After windows said "your windows needs to restart to continue" i clicked restart. And after prepearing screen windows restarted my pc again. And only things i saw hp logo and spinning dots. I waited like 5 hour and left my computer running. And still same screen. I tried everything to fix it even changing bios settings (secure boot etc.) Even reinstalling windows 8.1 into USB again. And i tried and tried like and weirdly it opened so i installed. I thinked it worked but after i restart  my laptop again the infinite screen with spinning dots came back. I booted my pc in safe mode and it booted normally. But not in normal mode it does not work. I tried to format again but this time again the same things happen but this time it didnt randomly open the OS. So it stuck with a spinning dots and hp logo. my friend said i think your product key is the problem (i entered a generic key) i edited windows 8.1 with adding ei.cfg file ("[edition id] coresinglelanguage, etc.") i tried again but this didnt worked too. Please help me. My bios is f.23 (i runned every diagonastics too)

Hi @prxcmd,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing a boot loop issue after installing Windows 8.1 on your HP Pavilion Gaming 16 can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the problem. Boot loops are often caused by issues with the operating system or hardware conflicts. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot the problem.

Try Safe Mode:

  • Restart your computer.
  • During the boot process, press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select "Safe Mode" from the list and press Enter.

Uninstall Recently Installed Software/Drivers:

  • If you recently installed any software or drivers before the boot loop started, try uninstalling them.
  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Uninstall a program" and remove any recently added software.
  • To uninstall drivers, go to "Device Manager," right-click on the problematic driver, and select "Uninstall."

Use System Restore:

  • If you have a restore point created before the boot loop issue occurred, you can use System Restore to roll back your system to a previous working state.
  • In Safe Mode, search for "System Restore" in the Start menu and follow the wizard to restore your system.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, installing the latest Windows updates can resolve compatibility issues.
  • In Safe Mode, go to "Control Panel" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that a hardware issue is causing the problem.
  • Check if your RAM or hard drive is faulty. You can use built-in diagnostics tools or third-party utilities for this.
  • Ensure that all hardware components are properly connected and seated.

Reinstall Windows:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Windows 8.1. Make sure to back up your data before doing this.
  • You can create a bootable Windows 8.1 installation USB or DVD and perform a clean installation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello again,

I tried all the solutions but it did not work. When i try to enter safe mode windows show a box telling me: "Windows Cannot Continue installation in safe mode". And reinstalling windows 8.1 did not work too. I cant enter my computer now not even safe mode. When i try to enter in normal mode bootloop continues. And i dont have a recovery point
