Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop has been crashing (blue screen) and every startup I have had to do system restore and that usually gets it going. But now I get the Windows Boot Manager screen and reference to "File:  \Boot\BCD and Status OxcOOOOOOf

 

I forget my system administrator login as well. What to do?   Buy a DELL?

 

It is about 7 years old...Ideas?

It is 7 years old and you ask if you should buy a Dell?

What system admin logon are you referring to? Password to enter BIOS? Or?

Sounds like you probably have a bad hard drive and need to replace it. 7 years is pretty long life for a laptop drive which is subjected to lots of heat and often moved around as well.

You could try a System Recovery to get a fresh install but not sure this will work or for how long with an aging hard drive:
