HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0009ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop occasionally crashes during sleep, which makes this function completely unreliable. I have the following error in the Windows Log - Windows failed fast startup with error status 0xC00000D4.Spectre crashes after sleep.png

@NeedlesOne Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Windows failed fast startup with error status 0xC00000D4.

I suggest you run the SFC scan. Please refer to this Link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker

Also, delete all the Prefetch files.

  1. Press "Windows-X" to display the Power User menu and click "File Explorer" to launch the utility.
  2. Select the system drive. ...
  3. Open the "Prefetch" folder. ...
  4. Select the prefetch files you want to delete, press "Delete" and click "Yes" to confirm your action and delete the files.

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
