ProDesk 400 G3 MT Business

I bougth new SSD to my ProDesk 400 G3 MT Business desktop.

First i dicsonnected the old HDD then i installed fresh windows on the SSD.

After installation the pc restarted but windows did not start and i got black screen for a while and a message no bootable device after.

I reconnected my old hdd and booted into my old windows and took screen shot for my disk maeger

Disk 0 is the new ssd

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

 

From the screenshoot, your hard disk has an EFI System Partition (ESP) but your SSD does not.

 

So, it looks like you installed Windows to the SSD in  Legacy (BIOS) mode.

 

You either need to reinstall Windows, this time in UEFI mode, or "clone" the HDD to the SSD -- which will copy the needed ESP to the SSD.

Thanks for the new image -- but that poses a different question: why is there a Recovery partition on the SSD?

 

If that was on the HDD and you moved it to the SSD, it will NOT work, now -- as once you touch or move it, it does not work anymore.

 

I suggest you do the following:

1) Remove the Recovery partition from the SSD

2) Download and install Macrium Reflect from here:  http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD
4) Boot your PC from the MR media and select the option to repair the Windows Boot -- selecting the SSD as the target drive, not the HDD.

 

When you reboot, the PC should then boot OK from the SSD.
