Ok so here is the issue... after using windows update after a fresh install i restarted the computer to finish the update and the BIOS automatically updated. This happened about a week ago. I have NEVER had a windows update that forced my BIOS to update. On top of that weirdness, it updated to a BIOS version that isnt on the support site for download. The BIOS version is 1 number higher than the one on the suppot site for my laptop. What is going on here? Every device on my network was hacked and also my home network has a permanent man-in-the middle attack going on. i dont use that network anymore at all. So im in the process of recovering my devices. I need to know if the BIOS update is legitimate or not. Because if its not i got bigger issues to deal with. After my first re-install of windows 11 i installed eset smart security and for the first time ever it detected a computrace type malware in the UEFI part of the hard drive. I wiped the disk clean and started over completely. And lastly, for some weird unknown reason my HP Account is banned on the support site. i had to create a new profile just to post this. i need an HP support representative to fill me in on everything happening bevcause i am clueless as to what all thiis odd stuff is that is happening. I need to know why i was randomly banned and to get my other account UN-banned and some answers as to what is going on with my BIOS on that computer.

Hi @DmanOnFire

Yes the update is legitimate, HP as Microsoft partners, many BIOS updates are delivered by Windows Update, and after a long time they can be present on the HP support page.
