Hi there. 

I have a full Working zbook 17 G1.  I7,26 gb RAM.  Had a lot of Work with CAD Programms to do with this and the Elitebook 8540e Elitebook in older days. 

In 2026 I wanted to Install new BIOS, and win11 with flyoobe 2.0 - only for use Office and Internet Surf Station- cheaper than Gaming PC.

 

What i did : Update the BIOS with Ethernet. Top HP.com -  offen mit possible, due to Network Chip Error.. sometime ist worked.

 

After this: Ahci, secureboot enabled, AMD Windows Boot Manager at upper Device  in BIOS 

A Sandisk SSD SATA installed. 

The msata,40Gb deinstalled.

 

The Boot Stick with Zero ISO Windows 11 works fine and the full Installation was done.

 

What the hell now happens.

F30 no bootdisk available....

I tried a Lot to geht rid of this.

Only Pushing F9 - Shows Windows Boot Manager, or UEFI to select.

Because Rebooting after Updates ist necceso I have zu wait and Push F9 every Time.

 

What the hell does this.

After 7 days trying... I selected in BIOS Tod wait 5 Seconds while Boot... 

And Start ist normal direct to win11. 

Why this??.

While Boot left Corner 

ESC Button ist shown to go to BIOS . 5 sec....

The only way to boot ( without F30 Error.. nö bootable Media...  ORF F9 Push, select Option..)

 

Maybe you know a better way? Without waiting 5 Seconds?.?

 

The 40 GB Msata was not the Problem. After bald solved I installed this again. A litte Drive now.

 

I know this zbook 17 G1 is old and Not Windows 11 ready - But works now well  with flyoobe Installation. Typing and writing an an old pixma printer and WLAN... Therefore no 1000 Watt  PC needed.

 

Maybe there is someone - To help me unterstanding this BIOS. 

 I know there is a other BIOS for G2 Modell...   I have G1 - of Courage differrnt BIOS Chip. So I am carefull Not to destroy this.

If someone knows, what this uefi Bios (latest) does the Error F30 , F9.. and only boots normal,  when i so 5 sec wait to boot in BIOS Setzing

Please inform!
