To resolve this problem, you can try the following steps:

 

Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary issues. So, before attempting any other solution, restart your HP Notebook and check if the problem persists.

Use Safe Mode: Booting into Safe Mode might allow you to regain access to the "C" drive. To do this:

 

  • Restart your computer.
  • During the boot process, press and hold the "Shift" key until the Advanced Recovery Options screen appears.
  • Select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Settings" > "Restart."
  • When the computer restarts, choose "Enable Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking" if you require internet access.
  • After entering Safe Mode, check if you can access the "C" drive and adjust its permissions if necessary.

 

Using a Different User Account: Sometimes, the issue might be specific to the user account you are using. Create a new user account with administrative privileges and check if you can access the "C" drive from the new account. If successful, you can transfer your files and settings to the new account and continue using it.
