hi all
the replacement board took longer than expected from poland so apologies for later update
i fitted the new board with just the bare minimum to start it up pressed the on button and still no output to its own screen ;-( however on external screen all good
i had no reson whatsoever to suspect the screen so i went about removing the screen the screen bezel has double sided tape all the way round it and the bezel is super thin i eventually got the bezel off (this tells me the screen has never been out before)
undone the 4 retaining screws and the screen cable is completly out of its socket plugged it back in fitted the 4 retaining screws and turned it on i could now go into bios etc i reinstalled win 10 all good, this got me thinking maybe the old board was ok after all so this morning i put that back in and its working fine too so i now have an i5 board and an i7 board for the same laptop both working fine cant return the the board to poland so will keep the i7 board and sell the i5 one
good outcome in the end
i cant explain the intial issues with the board as they have gone with out me doing anything other than removong the board and refitting it
