Hello, I have an HP 15-da0077tx laptop and I recently updated the BIOS to version F.49 via Windows update.

Since that update, my ADATA  NVMe SSD is no longer detected by the system—neither in the BIOS nor in Windows.

The drive was working perfectly before the update.

I have not tested other drives, i don't have anymore.

I've tried rolling back to a previous BIOS version (such as F.48), but the system does not allow downgrading, stating that F.49 security features prevent it.

I've read on HP support forums that several users are experiencing exactly the same issue with BIOS version F.49 on other similar models.

➤ I would like to request:

    1. Information on whether there is an official or alternative solution.

    2. Whether there is a safe way to revert the BIOS or if there is a special version that restores compatibility with certain NVMe drives.

    3. Confirmation on whether HP is aware of this issue and if a fix is in progress.

@AshokP1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check BIOS Settings:

Go into BIOS (press ESC or F10 when you turn on your laptop).

Ensure NVMe is enabled and UEFI Boot Mode is selected.

Reset BIOS to Default:

In BIOS, select Restore Defaults and save changes. Then restart your laptop.

Test SSD on Another Device:

If possible, check your NVMe SSD in another laptop or external case to ensure it’s not faulty.

Use BIOS Recovery Mode:

Download an older BIOS (F.48) from HP's website.

Create a recovery USB (follow HP’s instructions).

Press Windows + B while powering on to initiate recovery and downgrade to F.48.

Look for New BIOS Update:

Keep an eye on HP’s support page for a new BIOS update that might fix this issue.
