HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fh0000 (77W46AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Battery was at 12%. I plugged original charger into laptop, no charge indicator on screen battery icon. Original charger used, powers other devices but doesn't charge laptop. Only light that ever shows is a small orange led near the charging port when I press and release the power button. This light flashes 3 times. Last attempt before battery totally died was an HP battery diagnostic and it showed that battery was functioning normally. Laptop is now dead. Tried forced reset with no luck.

Note that laptop was not being used and not plugged in but powered on and sleeping for a week or so. This has issue has never happened before. Any help appreciated.

Hi @scorefour4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check the Charger and Connections

Ensure Proper Connection:

  • Confirm that the charger is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.

Inspect the Charger:

  • Check the charger and cable for any visible signs of damage.
  • Try using a different compatible charger if available.

Power Adapter Test:

  • If you have an HP power adapter with a detachable cable, verify that the cable connections are secure.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Hard Reset:
    • Disconnect the charger and any other peripheral devices from the laptop.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
    • Reconnect the charger and peripheral devices, then attempt to power on the laptop.

Check for LED Indicators

  1. Charging LED:
    • Observe the small orange LED near the charging port when the charger is connected.
    • The LED flashing three times may indicate a hardware issue with the charging port or battery.

Utilize HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI):
    • Turn off the laptop and disconnect any external devices.
    • Power on the laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu is displayed.
    • Press F2 to access the HP System Diagnostics.
    • Select "Component Tests" and then "Battery."
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to test the battery and ensure it is functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.
