I cant update my bios to f36 or f37. I have tried all the older versions and they run fine from windows desktop. When I try to run f36 or f37, I get a hp system bios update and recovery pop up. It says hp bios update environment does not exist and to insert a usb to create a recovery.
Im running windows 7 so I cant try to uefi way. Is f36 and f37 for uefi/windows 8+ only?

Hi @mr_g84,
Welcome to HP Support! 🙂
I would be happy to help you with your HP Pavilion m6-1035dx Entertainment Notebook PC.
I understand that you are unable to update the BIOS from VF36 to VF37.
I would like to know why are you updating the BIOS version?
Are you updating to BIOS VF37 from HP website or through HP Support Assistant?
If you are not facing any issues with your PC I would suggest you stick to the current version.
You can also refer to this article to further troubleshoot the BIOS issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Have a great day! 🙂

The problem is with the .exe file itself. It will not show the insyde flash software to begin flashing, instead pops up a window showing what I posted in the above message.
It seems that my laptop supports uefi, but I'm not running Windows 8, so I can't update it through the uefi.
I can't update it within the bios itself and it looks like updating it from Windows desktop is the only way. Is there another way of updating it?
I have updated plenty of bios/uefi firmware and it's pretty straight forward. Like I said ALL the previous bios works fine. I even went as far as back to the first version, updating it one by one to f35. It just seems to get an issue with f36 and f37.

Hi @mr_g84,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Superb job and trying different steps to fix the issue.
I will send you the source file of the soft pack SP77670.exe
Click on the link and open the HTML file in a browser.
Change it to .exe instead of .html at the end of the address.
Refresh the page it will download the SP77670.exe file
Before you run the file do BIOS default from BIOS utility.
Run the downloaded .exe file and it should update the BIOS.
If it fails you can contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Keep me posted.
Cheers! 🙂
