Hi @ozcan-123 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue the blinking caps lock light on an HP laptop usually indicates a hardware issue, specifically with the system's memory (RAM). The pattern you're describing, 5 long and 3 short blinks, typically points to a memory module (RAM) failure.
Here's what you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Shutdown and Restart: Sometimes, the issue might be temporary. Shut down your laptop completely and then restart it to see if the problem resolves itself.
- Reseating the RAM: Turn off the laptop, disconnect the power adapter, and remove the battery (if possible). Then, locate the RAM compartment on your laptop. It's usually on the underside, secured by screws. Open the compartment, and carefully remove the RAM module(s). After that, reinsert the RAM firmly into their slots. Ensure they're properly seated. Then try turning on the laptop again.
- Test with One Stick: If your laptop has multiple RAM modules, try booting with only one RAM stick at a time. Remove all but one RAM module, then try turning on the laptop. If the issue persists, swap the RAM modules and try again.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the RAM modules for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks or bent pins. If you find any damage, the RAM module may need to be replaced.
