HP Notebook - 15-bw037nf
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

It didn't use to be like this before but I now have to wait for around 30 seconds before the PC starts really booting.

During these 30 seconds, the screen remains black, no HP logo, nothing

After these 30 seconds, I can access the Grub menu (I have a dual boot Windows / Linux)

Accessing the BIOS setup by pressing the Esc key at startup time takes 45 seconds

Trying to boot from a USB flash drive takes more than 1 minute before it really starts.

After the OS is on, everything works smoothly.

I guess something is wrong with the BIOS. Can you confirm?

Thanks

Christian

No -- nothing is wrong with the BIOS.

You installed Linux on your PC so that complicates the booting process and it is going to take longer -- and since HP only supports the OS that comes preloaded, you also took on responsibility for fixing issues now yourself.

You need to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you installed for further support.
