My computer turns off and then turns on again by itself. The screen and keyboard backlight turn off, sometimes the lock screen appears. This sometimes happens very rarely, and sometimes it is almost impossible to use the computer.

Hi @Igor0906,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check the Adapter Connection
Check the Adapter Barrel Connector:
- Ensure that the adapter barrel connector is inserted fully and smoothly into the DC barrel jack. An incorrectly inserted connector can trigger the "Incompatible Mode," causing intermittent power issues.
- Inspect the adapter barrel connector for any visible damage or debris.
Verify the AC Adapter:
- Ensure that you are using the original AC adapter shipped with the computer.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the Computer:
- Disconnect the AC adapter from the computer.
- Remove External Devices:
- Remove memory cards, disconnect nonessential devices such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
- Press and Hold Power Button:
- With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 20 seconds.
- Reconnect and Turn On:
- Reconnect the AC adapter, then turn on the computer to see if the issue persists.
Check for Overheating
- Ensure Proper Ventilation:
- Make sure the vents are not blocked by any objects and that they are clear of dust and debris.
- Use the computer on a hard, flat surface to allow proper airflow.
- Monitor Temperature:
- Use software to monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures. Overheating can cause unexpected shutdowns.
Update Drivers and BIOS
- Update System Drivers:
- Ensure that all system drivers, including the graphics and chipset drivers, are updated to the latest versions available on the HP Support website.
- Update BIOS:
- Check for BIOS updates and apply any available updates.
Check for Malware and Software Conflicts
- Run Antivirus Scan:
- Perform a thorough scan for malware or viruses that may be causing system instability.
- Identify Conflicting Software:
- Uninstall any recently installed software that might be causing conflicts.
I hope this helps.
