OMEN Laptop - 17-cb1060nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I keep getting an error message about cooling fan 90b when i start my computer. Bios is updated, the vents are clean and blowing cool air. The computer itself operates normally, but I cannot get rid of this message. I have tried letting windows start up, then shutting down and restarting. I ran the thermal processing test and hardware tests on the computer and all the tests are coming up with good results. Nothing will get rid of this message, it's been 3 weeks. The computer starts arbitrarily. Sometimes it only takes a few tries and sometimes it takes an hour of restarting. The warranty expired in March and then this started happening so I'm really pissed off. There is no reason for this to be happening that I can see, I don't travel with it so it isn't subjected to any sort of abuse, it just sits on my desk. And no I can't take it apart, I don't have a tiny screwdriver and I really don't know what I'm looking at once the computer is open anyway. How do I get rid of this message so that I can start my computer again on the first try?

Hi@coppelia6,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing cooling fan error 90B issues with the Omen HP Notebook on start up. As you have done all updates on the PC and if issue still persists then It is a hardware issue on the PC.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options for out of warranty products as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support for all warranty service options.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
