@daniel-23_02, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
- Undo recent changes. If you modified system files or settings (like overclock), try reversing them. If you changed a DLL or registry entry, restoring the original might help.
- Check for Windows updates. Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
- Update graphics drivers. Go to Device Manager > Display Adapters, right-click your GPU, and update the driver. Alternatively, download the latest version from HP Support website.
- Reinstall DirectX: Download the DirectX End-User Runtime official website and reinstall it.
- Verify game files. If using Steam, Epic Games, or another launcher, find the option to verify or repair game files.
- Check compatibility mode: right-click the game’s .exe file, go to Properties > Compatibility, and try running it in Windows 8 compatibility mode.
- Reinstall the game. If nothing works, uninstall and reinstall the game to ensure a clean installation.
- Use System Restore. If the problem started recently, restore your PC to a point before the issue occurred.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
