You've misunderstood the post; FAST BOOT cannot be unticked because it is greyed out. I know what the BIOS password is.

Hello,

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you say about the password because you did not know it. Apologies.

Options are usually greyed out in the BIOS [they cannot be changed] because the PC is in "on" mode and you need to completely power it off (discharge it) to be able to change the options

  • While the PC is still on, try hard restart/hard reset.
  • Press the  power on-button  and hold it for about 5-10 seconds until your computer powers off completely.
  • Remove and unplug any external periferals and accessories.
  • Press once the power-on button to turn on the PC and immediately begin hitting the Esc button repeatedly to load BIOS (F10)
  • Check how it is

If it still fails, please repeat

Tried that several times; no change.  - not sure how I can make BIOS changes with the power OFF as I won't be able to see the BIOS screens!  Secure boot is enabled

Check the "Security" tab in the BIOS :  do you have SpareKey enabled

do you have preboot authentication enabled (POST power-on password) ?

Go to the main tab and try resetting all BIOS settings to default settings.

Save and exit,

Login into the BIOS again and check
