Hi @manico22,
Thanks for your response.
I really appreciate the effort you’ve already put into trying to restore the BIOS it’s clear how much time you’ve invested, and I understand how discouraging it must feel when the usual recovery key combinations don’t work. Since the official recovery software for your specific HP Pavilion dv6 model (A6P12EA#ABE) is no longer available on the HP support website, let me suggest a few alternative steps that may help:
- Clear CMOS/Reset BIOS settings: If possible, remove the battery and AC adapter, then press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds. If your model has a removable CMOS battery, reseating it can sometimes reset the BIOS state.
- Try different USB formatting methods: Use a FAT32-formatted USB stick with the BIOS recovery file. Some dv6 models are very particular about USB formatting.
- The dv6 series is old, meaning no new BIOS versions are being developed.HP generally stops providing BIOS updates for older machines, and the existing, older updates may not be compatible with or listed for newer operating systems like Windows 10 or 11.
I hope this helps.

I've tried all the methods (W+B, W+V), but it won't start. With W+B, the Caps Lock key blinks twice after two minutes.
Thank you for your response. The problem persists because the software for this device is not available. Note: the device model is (A6P12EA#ABE), not (A8P12EA#ABE).
Could you please provide a download link for this software?
