i have an hp 855 g8 but the windows hello shows a compatible finger print scanner is unavailable why is this ? when i try downloading the driver from official hp website it shows an error and doesnt download , the biometric services are fully functional ive checked but the device manager shows only the facial recognition and not the fingerprint

usually it is optional, you have where to put the fingerprint but the internal module to the laptop is not installed, this is very normal in the laptops that have IR camera for facial recognition. So if you want to put the fingerprint you should buy the following module
Fingerprint reader M36397-001
NOTE: The fingerprint reader cable is available in the Cable Kit as spare part number
