@william164,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Unfortunately, it looks like the (hard) drive in your HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab153nr is failing and needs to be replaced:

As the failure message indicates, please back up any (personal) files onto a flash drive or external (USB) drive as soon as possible.

Hopefully you will be able to do this.  Purchase a new drive, preferably the SATA SSD (Solid State Drive) version of your failing/failed drive, which, according to: HP PartSurfer, is a 2.5-inch (9.5mm) which looks like this:

Here is an excellent purchase replacement example: Amazon.com: SP 1TB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal So....

Where to go from here, please take a look at these two YouTube instructional videos: Replace Bad Hard Drive in HP 15 Laptop With New SSD - YouTube and this one -go to time stamp 7:45 ("How to install Windows 10"): How To Replace a Hard Drive and Install Windows 10 On Your HP - YouTube.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@william164,

Btw, I don't think you'll need it, but there is a small chance you may need a 7mm to 9mm drive spacer when you use a 7mm drive.  Here is a purchase example: Amazon.com: ZRM&E 7mm to 9.5mm Adapter 2.5in Solid State Drive SSD Laptop Hard Drive Spacer : Electr....  Again, I don't think you'll need it, but I wanted to mention it just in case.

Kind Regards,
