Hi

Errrr are you saying you do not have a Recovery/Rebuild/Repair/Re-Install disk?

You did not make one when the PC was new?

OR you cannot configure the BIOS to boot from the media you have via F9 or equivalent?

As I live in the UK we seem to have a Language Barrier. Like constructing cohesive sentences.

So for Windows 8.X, you can try and make your own DVD/USB if you so choose.

sorry, yes i have the USB recovery/installation for windows 8.1.  I know it works because i can start the download on the computer i am on right now, I cannot get my other laptop which is a hp pavilion 15 to reconize the USB for some reason.  I knonw the ports work as well because one min it wont even show up and then i plug it in and its there again, when i go to f9 and pick the usb it goes to the black screen and says no bootable disc. or the error 37o i think that there is no disk i need to download OS to my hard disc.  LIke i said before this is a new hard disck my old one crashed.  i know its beign read because i did the extinsive hard drive diagnostics under f2 and everything past.

Are you absolutely certain you have made the W8.x I linked to?

Not using a n other?

Because the mention of a download is completely at odds with booting from a DVD/USB.

Yes I can get The usb  to start the windows 8.1 install on my other laptop without any problems

So now describe the sequence and problem with the 'faulty' one please.
