hp PAVILION POWER 15-CB002NB
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

According to https://support.hp.com/be-nl/document/c00219137#AbT4 I should repeatedly press ESC or F10 to access the BIOS during boot up. Unfortunately it does not work. (I want access to make the laptop boot from USB in order to also install Linux)

You have to be pretty quick tapping Esc- immediately after pressing power button. But you really don't need to enter BIOS and the laptop will ignore what you set in there anyway and default to hdd.

Start tapping Esc and it will open a menu where F9 Boot options appears. Tap F9 to choose your Linux usb and tap Enter.

Thanks, I thought I was quick, but I needed to be even quicker...

Next question: F9 shows boot options, but I can't seem to be able to select the USB.

Are you using the arrow key to move down and select/highlight usb?

Yes. The first option boots directly to Windows. The other option let me choose an EFI file, but there Windows seems the only option too.
