hp envy m6-k054ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I plugged in my envy on morning and the led on the dc input would not light and the notebook would not power on.

First I replaced my ac adapter. Did not resolve.

Replaced my dc input.  did not resolve.

Replaced the motherboard . At this point the dc input lit and the system booted normally.

I ran all the system diagnostics in the bios.

Everything passed boards, memory, batteries all passed.

After about three days the original issue reoccured. No power no leds.

I've tried to isolate the issue down to a bad component but the notebook will take pwr with anyone or all components disconnected from the motherboard.

I reassembled it and left it on the counter after about two days I noticed the pwr light was lit.

It booted fine. Ran all hp's tests all passed.

I got about 4 hours out of it and it shut off and won't take power again.

I'm getting another replacement motherboard but should I be looking at another component as the cause?

Any help would be awesome.

Thank you

That is not "normal", it sounds like there may be a bad connection with the motherboard somewhere. I was looking to repair this on my own.

I replaced the motherboard with a new one and the issue reoccured after a few days.

I thought this would perhaps be a known issue or someone may have encountered something similar.

Thanks

This sound like hardware related issue with the computer, as your experiencing issue after replacing the motherboard.

At this point of time, we won't be able to install or flash BIOS as the computer not powering on.
