Please try a hard reset and see if it works.
Power off your notebook,
Remove the a/c adapter, battery and everything that is attached to your notebook,
Hold the 'POWER' button down on your notebook for about 30 seconds,
Plug in the a/c power supply (without battery) and power on.

I turned it on then off, then I took out the battery. Then held the power button for around 30 sevonds and plugged it in and it still isn't working.
Is there anything else that might work?
It has been like this for just over a year and I didn't have time to fix it if that helps.
