Hello,

I have new notebook

HP Victus Gaming 15 FullHD IPS 144Hz i7-13620H 16GB 512GB SSD RTX 4050 6GB

I can't install W11 from pendrive.
System don't see pendive 😞

I have only option to choose:

OS Boot Manager (UEFI) - debian (WD PC SN740 SDDPNQD-512G-2006)
OS Boot Manager (UEFI) - Windows Boot Manager (WD PC SN740 SDDPNQD-512G-2006)
Boot from EFI File

In BIOS I can't change first boot device as USB. It's on the list but I can't choose it. (photo 2)

I tried this pendrive and boot on my girlfriend notebook and it's ok.

Can you help me? thanks

Hi @KaweX,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where your HP Victus Gaming 15 laptop isn't recognizing your bootable USB drive when trying to install Windows 11. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Ensure the USB Drive is Bootable

  • Double-check that the USB drive is properly formatted and configured as a bootable device.
  • Use tools like Rufus to create the bootable USB with the Windows 11 ISO file, ensuring it is set up for UEFI (GPT) mode.

2. Check USB Compatibility

  • Ensure that the USB port you're using is compatible. Try different USB ports on the laptop, especially USB 2.0 ports if available, as some USB 3.0 ports might have compatibility issues with booting.

3. Enable USB Boot in BIOS

  • Access the BIOS setup by pressing F10 or Esc (varies by model) during startup.
  • Look for settings related to Secure Boot and Legacy Support:
    • Secure Boot: Disable this option if it's enabled. Sometimes, Secure Boot can prevent the system from booting from a USB.
    • Legacy Support: Enable this if available. It allows the system to boot from non-UEFI sources.
  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS.

4. BIOS Boot Order

  • Go to the BIOS settings and navigate to the Boot Order or Boot Options section.
  • If the USB option is present but cannot be selected, try the following:
    • Disable Fast Boot: Fast Boot can sometimes prevent USB devices from being recognized during startup.
    • Add a New Boot Option: Some BIOS versions allow you to manually add a boot option. If you have this feature, you might be able to manually add the USB drive.

5. Check USB Drive File System

  • Ensure the USB drive is formatted with the FAT32 file system, as NTFS or exFAT might not be recognized by UEFI.
  • Reformat the USB drive to FAT32 and re-create the bootable Windows 11 USB.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @KaweX,

Please find the next steps below.

6. Use F9 Boot Menu

  • During startup, press F9 to bring up the Boot Menu.
  • If the USB drive appears in this menu, select it manually.

7. Update BIOS Firmware

  • Check if there is a BIOS update available for your HP Victus 15 laptop on the HP Support website.
  • Updating the BIOS might resolve any issues with boot device recognition.

8. Try Another USB Drive

  • If possible, try using a different USB drive to create the bootable media. Some USB drives may have compatibility issues with certain BIOS versions.

9. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Ensure that there are no hardware issues with your laptop's USB ports. If other USB devices are recognized, it’s less likely to be a hardware issue.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, there may be a specific BIOS setting or configuration issue that’s preventing the USB drive from being recognized. In such cases, contact HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
