So, whenever I put my laptop to sleep or hibernate mode after which when I turn it on the lock screen and cursor will show up, I am able to move the cursor but not able to login in to the device. After pressing random keys trying something will happen instead blue screen error shows up Error Code : CRITICAL PROCESS DIED, SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION (Not able to keep track of all the error because laptop boots up immediately after error but I guess mostly it is CRITICAL PROCESS DIED).
I found a conversation discussing a similar problem on flickering screen (https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/785455/laptop-flickers/#ipboard_body) and in this the guy gave a link to which seems somewhat similar to my problem but I have no ideas on how to work around this.
One important information I did had updated drivers recently maybe that would have caused an issue with TPM or some old drivers not working with the new one.

Welcome to HP Support Community!
We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊
The "Critical Process Died" and "System Service Exception" errors typically indicate a critical system process has failed or there's a problem with the system services. These can sometimes be due to a variety of issues such as driver conflicts, hardware failures, or corrupted system files.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve these issues:
-
Update Drivers: Check for any pending driver updates, especially for essential components like the graphics card, network adapters, and chipset drivers. You can update these via the Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.
-
Run Windows Update: Ensure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes updates contain fixes for known issues that might resolve your problem.
-
System File Checker (SFC) and DISM: Run these tools to check and fix any corrupted system files.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run:
sfc /scannow
- After that, you can run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run:
-
Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or any other reputable antivirus software to ensure no malware is causing this issue.
-
Perform a Clean Boot: This can help identify if any third-party application or service is causing the issue.
- Press
Win + R
, typemsconfig
, and hit Enter. - Under the Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services" and then click "Disable all".
- Go to the Startup tab and open Task Manager, then disable all startup items. Restart the computer.
- Press
Hope this helps!
