HP ENVY TOUCHSMART NOTEBOOK 15-J122TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For the past months I've been trying to fix my HP ENVY TOUCHSMART NOTEBOOK 15-J122TX (Windows  10, 64-bit) which is stuck in a blue screen of death.

It keeps going into a restart loop when I try to connect to WiFi with blue screen error:

irql_not_less_or_equal (tcpip.sys) or sometimes bad_boot_caller.

It's really frustrating since I've already tried Reset, replacing the HDD with an SSD, replacing the RAM, uninstalling the Network drivers, Network reset, and command prompt (netsh).

Nothing seems to be working with all the methods I found online. I hope you can help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi:

I believe that error is due to an outdated/corrupt network card driver.

The problem is...there isn't a newer driver for the Intel 2230 wifi card.

You can replace the Intel 2230 with this model card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You should be able to find this model wifi card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

If the problem is being caused by the Realtek ethernet adapter driver, download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 ethernet driver from the link below.
