Hello, I have a problem with my HP 15-DA0xxx laptop. I updated the BIOS to INSYDEH20 UEFI BIOS F.49 Rev 5.0. Now the M.2 SSD where Windows 11 was installed won't boot. I've been investigating and it's because the BIOS disabled the TPM 2.0 and now it doesn't appear in the BIOS configuration either. It's hidden. So I'm asking for help to get into the advanced BIOS configuration so I can enable the TPM 2.0.

Hi @jzemiranda,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify TPM Availability
Firstly, check if TPM 2.0 can be accessed through Windows:
- Check TPM Status:
- Press Win + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter.
- This will open the TPM Management Console. Check if TPM is available and enabled.
If TPM is not available in Windows, follow these steps to enable it via BIOS:
Accessing BIOS Configuration
To access advanced BIOS settings and enable TPM 2.0:
- Restart your laptop.
- Press Esc repeatedly during startup to access the Startup Menu.
- Select F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
Advanced BIOS Settings
Sometimes the advanced settings are hidden by default. You may need to access them using a specific method:
- There is often no standardized key sequence for unlocking advanced settings, but for many HP models, you can try the following:
- In the BIOS menu, press A while holding down F2. If that does not work, try pressing Fn + Tab three times or Ctrl + F10.
Enable TPM 2.0
Once you access the advanced settings:
- Look for Security or Advanced menu options.
- Locate TPM Security or Trusted Platform Module settings.
- Enable TPM 2.0.
- Save and exit BIOS.
Ensure UEFI Boot Mode
Verify the boot mode settings to ensure UEFI is enabled:
- In the BIOS Setup, navigate to Boot or Advanced Boot Options.
- Ensure UEFI Mode is selected instead of Legacy Mode.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried that before, but nothing worked. I'm still having the same problem. The BIOS doesn't recognize the SSD where my operating system was installed. I've tried restoring it to the previous version, following HP's instructions, but it won't let me. I'd appreciate a solution.

Hi @jzemiranda,
Thank you for the response.
Here's what you can try next:
BIOS Reset via RTC Battery (Hard Reset)
This will reset hidden TPM settings and storage configs.
Steps:
Turn off the laptop, unplug charger, remove battery (if removable).
Hold power button for 15–30 secs to drain.
Open the back panel (if you're comfortable).
Disconnect the CMOS/RTC battery for 5–10 mins.
Reconnect everything, power up.
This forces a full hardware reset including locked advanced BIOS settings. If TPM was forcibly disabled in firmware, this may unlock it.
Enable TPM and M.2 in BIOS (Post Reset)
Reboot → press Esc repeatedly → F10 (BIOS Setup)
Try entering advanced mode:
Press Fn + Tab 3 times → Reboot → BIOS again
Or try Ctrl + F10 or A inside BIOS screen
Go to Security → TPM and Advanced → NVMe Configuration (if present)
Set:
TPM: Enabled
TPM State: Available
Storage: AHCI, UEFI Boot
I hope this helps.
