Hi @kidus1001,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you are experiencing lag while gaming on your HP Pavilion x360, especially when plugged in, which can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Power Plan Settings:
- Adjust your power plan settings to ensure your laptop is not set to "Power Saver" mode while plugged in. This mode can limit performance to save energy.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Power Options. Select the "High Performance" power plan for better performance while plugged in.
Update Drivers:
- Make sure all your drivers, especially the graphics driver, are up-to-date. You can use the HP Support Assistant to check for the latest driver updates.
- Download the latest drivers from Official HP® Support or directly from the hardware manufacturer's site, like Nvidia or AMD, if applicable.
Adjust Graphics Settings:
- Lower the graphics settings in your game to see if it improves performance.
- Check the game developer's website for any patches or updates that may enhance performance.
Check Background Applications:
- Make sure no unnecessary programs are running in the background while you are gaming, as these can consume system resources.
- Use Task Manager to end any tasks that are consuming a lot of CPU or memory.
Thermal Overheating:
- Ensure your laptop is not overheating. Overheating can cause throttling, which reduces performance.
- Use a cooling pad to help maintain optimal temperature.
Battery Health:
- Sometimes, a battery in poor health can cause issues even when the laptop is plugged in. Check your battery condition via HP Support Assistant.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your system is running the latest version of Windows and install any pending updates that could resolve underlying issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
