HP 2000-2b09wm Notebook PC will not power on...
1.After doing the -'power-hold 30 seconds tip'-, it [[does]] on occasions boot. --- without the [internal] hard_drive connected
2. but,,, After doing the -'power-hold 30 seconds tip'-, it [[does not/has not]] on any occasion booted. --- with the [internal] hard_drive connected
Without the [internal]hard-drive connected, I have managed to run an Ubuntu on a usb-flash drive, to boot/run a system...
3. With the internal hard_drive connected, the screen is black, and NO powering on sounds are heard, fan, HD, etc. [silence]
...any clues are welcome

According to 'Windows Store', they're offering a/the 'HP Cloud Recovery Tool'(for free). Since the laptop needing this tool will not start, (as noted in the previous post), I tried to enter the --non-powering-- laptop's 'Product-ID' into the 'Product-ID's-field. There is an option[box] to enter a different 'Product-ID' value. I think that since the laptop being used to build this 'HP Cloud Recovery Tool' has a 'Product-ID' that is different from the laptop needing the services of the 'HP Cloud Recovery Tool', ...the 'Product-ID' value will not(ever) match, and always be 'invalid'. Therefore, one will always be instructed to "contact HP support". Next, I will try the recovery DVD(s) I'd made in a past life to continue on this quest... ... ...

--non-powering-- laptop [[ prod - C2N25UA#ABA ; MODEL - 2000-2b09WM ]]
... Next, I will try the recovery DVD(s) I'd made in a past life to continue on this quest... ..., being a lowly user, (MODEL - 2000-2b09WM), was thought to be the/a common denominator in being able to use the 'HP Cloud Recovery Tool/recovery DVD collection'. That is not the case, as {prod - C2N25UA#ABA} is considered as the 'Product-ID' value. A 'Product-ID' value also applies to the recovery DVD collection created previously for (prod - D1E8OUA#ABA, MODEL - 2000-2B19WM). I just noticed that the MODEL numbers also differ.
. The Ubuntu pictures are inserted to show that the --non-powering-on-laptop--[WHEN_HD_CONNECTED] issue, has left some room for a functioning live-USB-Ubuntu ... without the internal HD connected.?!!!
this is just another coping example of having installed a UBUNTU system onto a flash drive when ... without the internal HD connected.?!!!
