Hi @greggnardo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The blinking light pattern you described—3 long blinks followed by 2 short blinks—on your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14 laptop typically indicates a hardware issue, specifically with the BIOS or memory. Here’s how you can troubleshoot this problem.
Reset the Laptop
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn the laptop on.
Check RAM Modules
- If you're comfortable opening the laptop, you can check the RAM modules:
- Power off the laptop and remove the battery and power adapter.
- Open the back cover to access the RAM.
- Reseat the RAM modules by removing them and then reinserting them firmly.
- If there are multiple RAM sticks, try booting with one stick at a time to identify if one is faulty.
BIOS Recovery
- If reseating the RAM doesn’t help, attempt a BIOS recovery:
- Disconnect all peripherals and turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows key + B key, then press the power button for about 2 seconds while still holding the keys.
- Release the power button but continue holding the Windows and B keys until you hear a beeping sound or see the HP logo.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
