HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh0015cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when the laptop is plugged in, it behaves flakily. On openeing the lid, there is most often a bugcheck of varying types. Then at unpredictable times it will suddenly go blank and lock up.

It behaves normally when I dont have power cord plugged in. I went to amd site and installed their software to solve this problem. That is the one that created the audio volume problem. amd software did not solve the bugcheck/lockup problem.

This is the last reply I got from Microsoft.  The HP site says the laptop is upto date and doesnt need any new software.

DaveM121 has replied to your question Windows 10 home flaky with varying stop codes in Microsoft Support Community.

Your minidump files just indicate generic errors, no specific cause is indicated.

Go to the support page for your laptop on the HP website, then from there, download and install the version of Chipset drivers they recommend and while there, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed

This has a Ryzen processor.  I maintain several different PCs and laptops with Ryzen processor and I get the AMD Chipset downloads from their site:

https://www.amd.com/en/support

When you download and the run the Chipset driver installer, it first checks for compatibility with your hardware and will only continue if it is found to be compatible.

Thanks. As I say above, I have already tried downloading from AMD site. It does not solve the problem but creates a new one. The volume control stops working.

Sorry ... don't know why that would be happening.  I use their downloads on several PCs and have not run into such problems.
