Hi @slayer1937

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your HP ZBook Studio G7 Mobile Workstation is not powering on, and the charging LED changed from a solid orange light to a blinking orange light after performing a power drain. We appreciate the detailed information.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter from the notebook.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds, then release it.
  3. Reconnect only the original HP AC adapter directly to a known working wall outlet. Avoid docking stations, power strips, or adapters.
  4. Observe the charging LED for at least 30 seconds and then attempt to power on the notebook.
  5. If there is still no display, disconnect all external devices, including USB devices, monitors, and docking stations, and try powering on again.
  6. If the notebook remains unresponsive, press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds, release only the Power button, and continue holding Windows + B for a few more seconds. If the system starts, HP BIOS recovery may begin automatically.

A blinking orange charging light on an HP ZBook can indicate that the system is not receiving sufficient power to complete startup, or that a battery or power-related hardware condition is preventing normal boot.

The results of the steps above will help identify the next appropriate action.

Please let us know:

  • Does the Caps Lock key light blink when the Power button is pressed?
  • How many times does the orange LED blink before repeating the pattern?
  • Are there any sounds from the fan or keyboard backlight activity?

This additional information will help us guide you further.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
