Hello Irwin6,

The laptop is an HP EliteBook 840 G1 Notebook PC, F1R86AW. I haven't made any recent changes but did replace the hard drive with an SSD drive about a year ago. I cannot remember the last time I was able to shut down the computer using the Windows button. It will shut down only if I hold the power button for a few seconds. If I do try and use the Windows power button (from the start menu) the laptop will shut down but then restart about 5 seconds later.

I have tried all the solutions I have found from searching for the problem, including disabling the fast start but nothing seems to work. I have used the support assistant to check all the hardware and everything checks out

Any ideas?
