Hi, I am experiencing an issue with my HP laptop.

It is stuck on the BIOS information screen, and the keyboard is completely unresponsive. I am unable to navigate or exit the BIOS.

Additionally, the laptop is making continuous beeping sounds.

I have tried pressing different keys, but there is no response at all.

Could anyone advise what might be causing this and how I can fix it?

Hi @Xinyue_Hui,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  this must feel, especially with the beeping and the system not responding. Let’s work through this together.

Could you please share the exact HP laptop model ?

That will help me provide more guidance. Also, do you recall if any recent changes were made before this issue started like new hardware, BIOS updates, or accidental drops?

Here are a few initial troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Power reset: Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery (if removable), and hold down the power button for about 15–20 seconds. Then reconnect and try powering on again.
  • Check for stuck keys: Continuous beeping often indicates a keyboard issue. Gently press each key to ensure none are stuck or jammed.
  • External keyboard test: If possible, connect a USB keyboard to see if it responds in BIOS.
  • BIOS reset: Resetting the BIOS by holding down the Windows key + B while powering on.

Could you let me know the beep pattern (for example, one long beep followed by two short ones, or continuous beeping)? HP laptops use beep codes to indicate specific hardware issues, so that detail will be very helpful.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
