Hi @sebberger, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15 won’t boot again and you've already tried the usual troubleshooting steps, let's go through a more thorough approach:
1. Basic Power Reset
Since letting it sit for a while worked last time, try performing a proper power drain:
- Unplug the charger and remove external peripherals (USB, mouse, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 30–60 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in and try turning it on.
2. Check Charger & Battery
- Use a different power outlet.
- Check the charging LED:
- White/Amber LED – Charging fine.
- No LED – Battery or charger issue. Try a different charger if available.
- Blinking LED – Could indicate a battery failure or power issue.
3. Inspect Display & Hardware
- Try an external monitor (via HDMI) to check if it’s a display issue.
- If the screen remains black, shine a flashlight on it—if you see faint images, the backlight may have failed.
- Listen for fan/hard drive activity – If the fans spin but nothing appears, it might be a motherboard/GPU issue.
4. BIOS Recovery Attempt
Since you had success before after leaving it for a while, it might be an issue with the BIOS. Try recovering it:
- Hold down Win + B and then press Power for 2-3 seconds.
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the prompts.
- If nothing happens, try Win + V instead.
5. CMOS Reset (If Possible)
If you are comfortable, you can try a CMOS reset:
- Disconnect the battery and charger.
- Press power for 60 seconds.
- If you can access the CMOS battery, remove it, wait 5–10 minutes, and put it back in.
- Reconnect power and try booting up.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
