bios is most certainly corrupted, i tried all the already built in hp recovery tools, all of them would keep repeating the verifying newly written bios before shutting off, or shutting off the laptop before it gets to that stage, i created a bios recovery usb and the same issues come up.

also some other behavior ive noticed, the amount of time before the laptop shuts off during he bios recovery proccess is longer based on how long since the last time i tried a bios recovery, so if i keep from trying the bios recovery process for abouit an hour the bios recovery will run for maybe 4 minutes.

Hi @vneumann

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It definitely sounds like your BIOS is stuck in a corrupted state, preventing a successful recovery. The image you uploaded confirms that your system is attempting to write a new BIOS image but keeps shutting down before completing the process.

Here are a few steps you can try:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and try booting again.

2. Use HP BIOS Recovery (Windows + B)

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press and hold Windows + B keys.
  • While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

3. Try a Different BIOS Recovery USB

  • If your current recovery USB isn't working, try creating a new one using HP's official BIOS recovery tool. You can find detailed steps here.
  • Ensure the USB is formatted as FAT32 and contains the correct BIOS files.

4. Check HP Sure Start (If Supported)

  • Some HP laptops have HP Sure Start, which automatically restores the BIOS. If your laptop supports it, it may attempt recovery on its own.

Since you've noticed that waiting longer before retrying allows the recovery process to run for a few more minutes, it could indicate a thermal issue or power instability. If possible, try running the recovery in a cool environment or with an external cooling pad.

Let me know if any of these steps help!
