Hi @CHEN254,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP PC takes too long to boot, it could be due to several common issues. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you speed things up:

1. Disable Startup Programs

Too many apps launching at startup can slow down boot time.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • Right-click and disable unnecessary programs (e.g., Spotify, OneDrive, Zoom).

2. Enable Fast Startup

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Check Turn on fast startup.

3. Update Windows and Drivers

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all updates.
  • Use HP Support Assistant to update BIOS and drivers.

4. Check for Malware

  • Run a full scan using Windows Security or a trusted antivirus.

5. Free Up Disk Space

  • Open Settings > System > Storage.
  • Use Storage Sense to clean up temporary files and old updates.

6. Defragment Your Hard Drive (HDD only)

  • Search for Defragment and Optimize Drives.
  • Select your drive and click Optimize.

⚠️ Skip this if you have an SSD—it doesn’t need defragmentation.

7. Check for Disk Errors

  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type: chkdsk /f /r
  • Press Enter and restart your PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
