my HP pavillion DV9000 will not turn on

Hello I am having a problem with my HP pavilion DV9000 I dont know why or even what happened to it, I had no problems with it until I let it sit for a couple of months and now it will not turn on. The lights above the key board turn on for about half a second and then they shut off I dont hear anything starting but there is a faint beep as the lights turn off.

As of this moment I am going to replace and upgrade lots of the internals and I need to find the problem so I can fix or replace the part.

If you CAN, to find out the problem, you would need to be able run hardware diagnostics by pressing the Esc key repeatedly and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, select Diagnostics (usually F2) and let it run.

If you can NOT do that, or if that does not work, then there is NOTHING more you can do by yourself -- and there is NOTHING we can do because we have no way of accessing your PC from here to run diagnostics or repair hardware.

And if that is the case, the issue is more likely a failed motherboard -- and replacing that will cost you more than simply replacing the laptop.
