Basically I had this problem a while ago, about 5 months, but it has just occured twice in a row. I will close the lid of my laptop putting it into sleep mode or whatever before going to bed. Then the next morning it won't start. When Iplug it in the charging light is on, and If I unplug the laptop and try to charge my phone via the usb-c port on the laptop it works, so the battery clearly has juice. However I can't turn on the laptop while the charging light is orange. When it turns white, which I assume means full charge, I can finally turn it on. This issue also only seems to happen if it's been sleeping for a long time (overnight, 7-8 hours). If I close the lid for only a few hours it will work as usual.
Hi, thanks for the help. i ended up running the HP battery calibration tool and it seems to have fixed the problem for the most part. It has, a few times, gone to sleep when I unplug the charger while using it, but it wakes right back up without any issues.
