Hi @bpchimera

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining the situation—I'm really sorry your HP Pavilion x360 is completely unresponsive. When a laptop shows no signs of life—no lights, no fan noise, no display—it’s often due to a power delivery fault, embedded controller lock, or a failed startup sequence.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery process to help bring it back.

Step-by-Step Recovery for No Power / No Boot

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This clears residual charge and resets the embedded controller.

  • Disconnect the charger and all external devices.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Release, then reconnect the charger (without pressing power yet).
  • Wait 1 minute, then press the power button once.

If the laptop powers on briefly or shows any light activity, continue with the next steps.

2. Check Charging LED Behavior

  • Solid white or amber light: Battery is charging normally.
  • Blinking light: May indicate a hardware fault or power lockout.
  • No light at all: Could suggest charger or board failure.

Try a different wall outlet or a known-good HP charger if available.

3. Attempt BIOS Recovery

If the system is locked at firmware level:

  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B for up to 40 seconds.
  • If successful, the BIOS recovery screen will appear.

This can restore the firmware if it was corrupted during a previous update or shutdown.

4. Inspect for Signs of Life

  • Do you hear fan spin or feel warmth?
  • Does the keyboard backlight flash?
  • Any faint screen flicker?

Even a brief response helps narrow down the fault to power delivery vs. board-level failure.

5. Use HP’s No Power Troubleshooting Guide

You can follow detailed steps here:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/computer/power-boot-issues

This guide includes visual checks, component tests, and recovery options tailored to your model.

If the laptop remains completely unresponsive after these steps, the issue may involve the DC-in jack, battery circuit, or motherboard. If you're comfortable opening the back panel, reseating the battery and SSD can sometimes restore power.

Let me know if you saw any blinking lights or if the laptop responded even briefly—I’ll guide you further. You're doing everything right by catching this early and seeking a proper fix.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
