@ijaolatech, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Pavilion x360 laptop is not booting and you're seeing 3 long and 6 short blinks on the keyboard. I’ll be happy to help you with this.

What the Blink Code Means

The 3 long and 6 short blinks (3.6) typically indicate a BIOS corruption failure on HP laptops. This is a critical issue where the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is either corrupted or missing, preventing the system from starting.

Recommended Steps to Resolve BIOS Corruption

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on again.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Attempt BIOS Recovery Using Key Combo

HP laptops support a built-in BIOS recovery feature.

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys (or Windows + V on some models).
  3. While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the Power button but continue holding the Windows + B/V keys for another 10 seconds.
  4. If successful, you should see the HP BIOS Update screen and the system will attempt to recover the BIOS.

If this works, let the process complete and the system should reboot normally.

Step 3: Create a BIOS Recovery USB (if above fails)

If the key combo doesn’t work, you can create a BIOS recovery USB on another working PC:

  1. Go to the official HP support site: Official HP® Support
  2. Enter your laptop’s product name or serial number.
  3. Download the latest BIOS for your model.
  4. Follow this HP guide to create a recovery USB:
HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) | HP® Support
  5. Insert the USB into the affected laptop and repeat the Windows + B recovery steps.

If none of the above steps work, the BIOS chip may be severely corrupted or there could be a hardware issue. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - Africa | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
