@Kirt90, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Boot Device Not Found" Error on HP PCs!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The "Boot Device Not Found" error usually occurs when the system is unable to detect a hard drive on startup. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check Physical Connections

  1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all peripheral devices.
  2. Open the computer case and check if all internal cables are securely connected, especially the ones connected to the hard drive.
  3. Re-seat the hard drive, unplugging and plugging back the cables.

Step 2: Run BIOS Diagnostics

  1. Turn on or restart the computer and quickly press the Esc key until the Startup Menu appears.
  2. Press F2 to run the diagnostics and select the hard drive test. This will confirm if the hard drive is recognized at the BIOS level.

Step 3: Adjust BIOS Settings

  1. Restart the computer and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu screen is displayed. Then, press F10 to enter the BIOS setup.
  2. Check the Boot Order: Ensure that the hard drive is placed at the top of the boot order list.
  3. Secure Boot Settings:
    • Navigate to the Security tab and disable Secure Boot.
    • Enable Legacy Support if it is available.
  4. Save Changes and Exit: Save any changes and restart the computer.

Step 4: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power sources.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to reset the hardware.
  3. Plug the power source back in and try to start the computer again.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
